Avon’s high-performance period crossplies developed under the name ‘Turbospeed’ throughout the 1950s and 60s, and were fitted as standard equipment to many of the fastest cars of the day. Avon still manufactures the Turbospeed today with period-correct patterns.

The Turbospeed is available in a range of sizes to suit a variety of vehicles from the period. At the time they were fitted to the fastest cars around, and carried appropriate speed and load ratings for them. If you are looking for period-correct looks and performance for your post-war Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin or Jaguar, the Turbospeed was frequently the original-equipment tyre.

This 820H15 size Avon Turbospeed crossply is an original fitment tyre for the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud as well as the Bentley S1, S2,S3 and Continental models. As such it is marked R/R-B, for Rolls Royce and Bentley, on the sidewall.
